I’m an acupuncturist and massage therapist and a firm believer in taking a holistic approach to healing. Through my practice, I strive to align patients and support the well-being of mind, body and spirit.
At Red Phoenix Acupuncture I am dedicated to the healing process of all my patients. I am passionate about acupuncture and treat according to evidence based practice. I specialise in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Five Elements Acupuncture and Classical Stems and Branches. I am also a massage therapist and have a strong philosophy of empowering my patients in their healing journeys. I believe that these modes of healing should be accessible to all and therefore offer a sliding payment scale. Acupuncture Treatment
Traditional acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medicine-based practice that has evolved over the past two thousand years. It focuses on maintaining a free flow of ‘Qi’ or energy in the body, restoring the body’s natural equilibrium and enhancing its capacity to heal.
It is believed that any impediment to the flow of energy can lead to disease in the body. The philosophy of Chinese medicine views our emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing as deeply interconnected. There are many reasons for the flow of Qi to be disrupted, amongst the most common are emotional and physical stress, poor diet, lack of exercise or physical injury. With the use of very fine sterile needles, specific points on the body are accessed to restore the flow of Qi and trigger the body’s natural healing response.
Acupuncture is used in both the treatment and prevention of disease and is an important aspect to improving health and wellbeing. It is a very safe practice that treats presenting symptoms alongside the root causes, often producing profound effects.
